Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, the Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, says the institution will complete its power generating plant in October.

Ogunbodede made this known on Monday at the biennial conference of the African Institute for Science Policy and Innovation held at OAU.

The vice-chancellor said the project, which started in 2017, would be ready by the end of October.

He added that the institution was working with a rural electrification agency that would provide a gas-powered turbine that would generate 8.0 megawatts of electricity for the institution.

“Because of the fast pace of the work, the project will be delivered by October ending.

“We are now very sure that by October ending, the university will be generating its own electricity and what that means is that we will be off the national grid,” he said.

Ogunbodede stated further that by the time the project was delivered, the university would be saving between N35 million and N65 million in energy cost monthly.

He said that the university’s daily energy need was below six megawatts, adding that the plant would also power the institution’s teaching hospital.

The vice-chancellor stated that the institution’s neighbouring communities would also benefit from the excess energy that the plant would generate.

Controversial music executive, Ubi Franklin recently granted an interview with media personality and public figure, Daddy Freeze where he opened up about his relationship with his ex-wife, Lilian Esoro.

Franklin, in the interview, disclosed how he met his second baby mama, his relationship with an ex-BBNaija housemate, TBoss and as well as his journey to fatherhood.

Speaking about his relationship with his ex-wife, Lilian Esoro, the Triple MG boss revealed that they still have a cordial relationship regardless of the divorce drama.

Franklin also revealed how he met his second baby mama, Nicola Siyo, who became his staff.

”My ex that just had a baby. we were dating before she started working with me. We were dating and one day I was on the phone trying to get a good communications person and she had already worked with a communications department in a multinational company in South Africa and she said I could help you do a few things while you look for the person to do it which is not bad.

After that, she started working with us. We were dating before she became my staff because I felt she had a particular skill I needed. She was someone that could understand and listen to me at a particular time to do the job. She is a great person. Not every relationship will end in marriage” he said

The music executive disclosed that the way he conceived his three children from three different women wasn’t the way he planned to them.

“Honestly, I want to say it today the way I have had my kids, the three of them, is not how I would have loved to have them. I prayed to God for four kids, I have three now.

However, Jackye denied calling Tacha a witch, adding that she only speculated some people brought charm to the house.

But, Jackye’s social media manager and boyfriend, Lami on his Instagram page on Monday revealed that ‘he woke up to a lot of death threats in Jackye’s inbox all because of how she was put on the spot by Ebuka’.

The Police Command in Kano State has confirmed the arrest of a housewife, Aisha Ali, who allegedly poured hot water on the private part of her husband.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement in Kano on Tuesday, and said that the incident occurred at Feyen-Fayen village in Danbatta Local Government Area, NAN reports

Haruna said that the command received a report on Sunday from the Village Head of the community that 35-year-old Aisha poured hot water on the lap and private part of her husband in their home on Friday.

“The husband suffered severe burns on his private part and surroundings.

“He is presently admitted at Danbatta General Hospital receiving medical care and is responding to treatment,’’ he said.

He said that after the incident the suspect fled the village into neighbouring Jigawa.

Haruna said that on receipt of the report, the police responded promptly, by raising a team of Operation Puff Adder which tracked and arrested the suspect at her hideout at Babura in Jigawa.

He said that preliminary investigation revealed that she committed the act because her husband was planning to marry a second wife.

According to him, the commissioner of police in the state has ordered that the case be transferred to State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

The spokesman said that the suspect would be arraigned as soon as the investigation was completed.

“The command is using this medium to call on law-abiding citizens of the state to always report any incident to the nearest police station without delay.

“This will assist in immediate arrest, investigation and diligent prosecution of the culprit,” he said.
